Return and Refund Policy

Furniture returns require careful handling, packaging, and carrier coordination. This policy explains when an item may be returned, how to start a return, who is responsible for return shipping, and how refunds are processed.

Return Window

Eligible items may be requested for return within 30 days of delivery.

To start a return, email support@themodhome.com with your order number, the email used at checkout, the product name, and the reason for the return request.

Returns must be approved by Themodhome before they are shipped back. Items returned without authorization may be refused or delayed.

Return Eligibility

To be eligible for return, an item must be:

New, unused, and in resalable condition
Returned with all original parts, hardware, manuals, accessories, and packaging when available
Without damage, stains, odors, installation marks, assembly damage, or signs of use
Packed safely for return transit
Returned according to the instructions provided by our support team

Items That May Not Be Eligible for Return

The following items may be final sale or not eligible for return unless they arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect:

Made-to-order or customized items
Clearance, final sale, open-box, or discounted-as-final-sale items
Assembled, installed, altered, or used furniture
Items damaged after delivery due to handling, assembly, misuse, improper care, or failure to follow product instructions
Items without required parts, hardware, manuals, accessories, or packaging when safe return shipping cannot be arranged
Gift cards

Original Packaging

Please keep the original packaging until you are sure the item will work for your space.

Large furniture is more likely to be damaged during return transit if it is not packed correctly. If the original packaging is missing or unusable, a return may require additional packaging review, carrier approval, or repackaging fees. In some cases, a return may not be possible if the item cannot be safely transported.

Return Shipping Costs

Unless the item arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect, customers are responsible for return shipping costs and carrier fees related to the return.

Large furniture returns may require freight pickup, special handling, packaging review, or scheduled pickup. Return freight, pickup fees, storage fees, repackaging fees, missed pickup fees, and other carrier charges may be deducted from the refund when applicable.

Original shipping charges, upgraded delivery fees, white glove service fees, assembly fees, storage fees, and completed service charges are non-refundable unless required by law or unless the issue was caused by our error.

Damaged, Defective, Incorrect, or Missing Items

Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If your item arrives damaged, defective, incorrect, or missing parts, contact us at support@themodhome.com within 48 hours of delivery.

Please include:

Order number
Photos of the item
Photos of the damaged, defective, incorrect, or missing area
Photos of the outer packaging
Photos of the shipping label
Photos of any damage noted at delivery
A brief description of the issue

For freight deliveries, please note visible damage with the carrier when possible before signing the delivery receipt or bill of lading.

Do not discard the item, parts, or packaging until the claim has been reviewed. We may need photos, packaging, carrier documentation, or additional information to resolve the issue.

Depending on the situation, we may offer a replacement part, repair solution, replacement item, return, or refund.

Refused Deliveries and Missed Appointments

If a delivery is refused for reasons other than confirmed shipping damage or carrier error, or if a scheduled delivery appointment is missed, additional carrier fees may apply.

These fees may include re-delivery fees, storage fees, return freight charges, or other carrier costs. Applicable fees may be deducted from any refund.

Refund Timing

Once an approved return is received and inspected, we will notify you whether the refund is approved.

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Please allow up to 10 business days after approval for the refund to appear on your statement. Processing times may vary by payment provider and financial institution.

Exchanges

For a replacement item, request a return for the original item and place a new order after the return is approved. Availability and pricing may change.

If you are unsure about size, access, delivery method, return eligibility, or material variation, contact us before placing your order. We would rather help you check the details before purchase than have the item arrive and not work for your home.
